From August 19th, all passengers (except children born in 2005 or later) who enter Iceland are required to undergo two COVID-19 screenings and quarantine for 5-6 days in between tests.
The first test will take place at the border and a second test several days later at health care services. Until travellers have received the results of the second testing 5-6 days later, they will be required to quarantine.
Please note that these are the requirements today, however, the government is evaluating the border rules every two weeks. For more information on the quarantine process, please click here.
The cost of the test is ISK 11 000 (approx. 70 EUR / 80 USD) if paid on-site, or ISK 9 000 if paid in advance*.
No charge is taken for the second screening test.
The requirement of taking a PCR test to enter Iceland may change in the coming weeks, in a more flexible way. We will do our best to keep you updated.
